The Norwegian operative shuts down pushes with sound, gravity, and nanowire. Master Sonic Sensor stuns, GravNet, and the Annihilation cocoon.
By VALMAUK Staff
Deadlock is a denial-focused Sentinel built to stop a push dead in its tracks. Her kit punishes movement and sound: she stuns noisy pushers, forces enemies to crouch, walls off space, and her ultimate physically removes a player from the round by dragging them away in a nanowire cocoon. She is about controlling tempo, not gathering information.
| Ability | Key | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| GravNet | C | 200 cr | Throw a grenade that detonates on landing, forcing every enemy in the radius to crouch and move slowly. |
| Sonic Sensor | Q | 200 cr (x2) | Deploy a sensor that monitors an area for enemy sound and concusses anyone making noise in range. |
| Barrier Mesh | E | Free (signature) | Throw a disc that generates solid barriers from its landing point to block off a path. |
| Annihilation | X | 7 ult points | Unleash a pulse of nanowires that captures the first enemy hit and drags them along a path, killing them unless freed. |
These keys and costs are accurate as of the current patch. Deadlock has received several buffs since release, so her sensor trigger conditions and Annihilation behavior are worth double-checking against the live patch notes.
On defense, Deadlock layers her utility to make a push miserable. A Barrier Mesh narrows the entrance into a kill funnel, a Sonic Sensor covers the choke to punish anyone who walks or shoots, and GravNet locks pushers in place for an easy trade. She wants the enemy to either move slowly and predictably or eat a concuss for rushing.
On attack, use Barrier Mesh to cut a site in half and isolate defenders during your execute, and GravNet to flush an enemy out of a corner. Annihilation is a powerful entry or retake tool: fire it down a choke and it removes whoever it catches from the fight entirely, letting you take space with a man advantage.
"Deadlock does not ask the enemy where they are; she just makes sure they cannot get past her.
Deadlock generally favors maps with tight chokes that her Barrier Mesh and sensors can fully cover, with Split, Breeze, and Lotus often mentioned. Confirm the active rotation first, as her funneling utility is far stronger on maps with narrow entrances.
Pair GravNet with a Sonic Sensor on the same choke. The crouch from GravNet keeps enemies in the sensor zone longer, chaining the slow into a concuss and making the push nearly impossible to complete cleanly.
Medium. Her individual abilities are simple, but getting full value comes from layering them correctly and predicting where the enemy will push.
