The Turkish nightmare hunter. Reveal, trap and terrify enemies with Fade’s fear-fueled kit.
By VALMAUK Staff
Fade is the bounty hunter of VALORANT — an Initiator built around fear. Her kit drags enemy positions into the light with reveals, then pins them in place and floods them with debuffs. Where Sova reveals from afar with precision lineups, Fade is more aggressive and close-range, snapping out info at the front of an execute.
She is one of the strongest pure info Initiators in the game, and her reveals come with teeth: a trail enemies cannot hide, a trap that holds them still, and an ultimate that deafens and decays. Fade punishes anyone who tries to hold a quiet angle.
| Ability | Key | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prowler | C | 250 credits (as of the current patch) | Send out a steerable prowler that chases the first enemy or trail it sees and nearsights them on contact. |
| Seize | Q | 200 credits (as of the current patch) | Throw a knot of fear that ruptures on the ground, tethering and deafening enemies who stay in the zone. |
| Haunt | E | Signature, free with a cooldown (as of the current patch) | Throw a watcher that drops and reveals enemies in line of sight, leaving a trail Prowlers and you can hunt. |
| Nightfall | X | Ultimate, 8 points (as of the current patch) | Send a wave of nightmare energy through terrain that marks enemies with a Terror Trail, deafens and decays them. |
Confirm exact costs and keybinds in-game, as Fade’s values have shifted across balance patches.
Fade’s loop is reveal, then convert. Throw Haunt into a site to spot defenders, then chain a Prowler onto the trail it leaves — the prowler will chase down and nearsight whoever was revealed, setting up a free fight. Seize is your lockdown tool: drop it on a defuser or a fleeing enemy to tether them in place while your team collapses.
Because much of her kit works at shorter range than Sova’s, Fade plays closer to the action and benefits from entering soon after her reveals. On defense, Haunt checks pushes and Seize delays plants. Nightfall is a devastating execute or retake tool — the Terror Trail and deafen leave enemies blind to your flank and unable to coordinate.
Fade tends to perform well on tighter maps where her shorter-range reveals and tethers are reliable — Bind, Lotus, Haven and Pearl are frequent homes for her. On very open maps, longer-range Initiators sometimes edge her out. The map pool and meta of the day will shape her exact value.
Pro tip: chain your kit in order. Haunt to reveal, Prowler down the trail to lock the target, then swing onto a debuffed, nearsighted enemy. Used out of sequence, each piece is far weaker than the combo.
Medium to high. Fade’s individual abilities are simple, but stringing reveals into prowler chases and timing your entry off them takes practice. She also has lineup potential for Haunt and Seize that lifts her ceiling considerably.
