Wards are the cheapest power in the game. Here is what to buy, where to place it, and how to deny the enemy theirs.

Deaths to ganks almost always trace back to a piece of map you could not see. Vision is information, and information is the difference between a confident play and a coinflip. The best part: most of it is dirt cheap or free.
Think about where danger comes from and where the next objective is. In the laning phase, ward the river entrances and the enemy jungle paths that lead to your lane. As the game moves toward a Drake or Baron, the vision war shifts to the pit and its approaches — control that area minutes before the objective spawns, not as it is dying.
A ward you place to spot a gank is worth far more than the kill you might have chased. Vision prevents the deaths that lose games.
Clearing enemy wards is half the job. A swept-out flank lets your team collapse on an objective unseen. Before a big play, sweep the path your team will walk and drop a control ward where the enemy keeps re-warding — you are not just seeing them, you are blinding them.
"The map is dark by default. Everything you light up is a fight you get to start, and everything you sweep is a fight they do not.
