Creep score is the most reliable source of gold in the game, and most players leave half of it on the table. Here is how to fix that.
By LOLMAUK Staff
Kills are exciting, but minions are where the gold actually is. A laner who reliably hits their creep score will out-item an opponent who chases highlight kills, and they do it without ever taking a coinflip fight. It is the least glamorous skill in League and one of the most decisive.
A single wave of minions is worth roughly the same gold as a kill, and waves keep arriving every thirty seconds whether or not you win a fight. Miss two or three minions a wave and across a twenty-minute laning phase you have thrown away a full item — quietly, with no death recap to remind you.
Rough benchmark: aim for around 7 CS per minute. Hitting that consistently puts you ahead of most of your bracket on gold alone.
"CS is honesty. Kills can be luck, ganks, or the enemy throwing — but your creep score is exactly as good as your fundamentals are.
Do not panic about perfect CS while you are also dodging ganks and tracking the map. Get to "good enough" — a clear majority of minions, every wave — and your gold lead will show up on the scoreboard without a single risky fight.
