Sage is the support backbone of the Sentinel class and the easiest agent in the game to pick up. Her kit is built around denial and sustain: she slows pushes, walls off space, heals damaged allies, and can literally bring a dead teammate back into the round. She rewards good fundamentals more than flashy plays.
| Ability | Key | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barrier Orb | C | 400 cr | Place a solid wall that fortifies after a few seconds, blocking a path or boosting an ally to a high angle. |
| Slow Orb | Q | 200 cr (x2) | Throw an orb that detonates into a slowing field, hampering movement and making enemies audible. |
| Healing Orb | E | Free (signature) | Heal a damaged ally over time, or heal herself at a slower rate. |
| Resurrection | X | 8 ult points | Target a dead ally and channel to bring them back to life at full health. |
Slot assignments and pricing are accurate as of the current patch. Sage has been retuned repeatedly over the years, so treat the heal amount and ult-point cost as a current-patch snapshot.
On defense, Sage uses her wall to seal a choke or create a delay, and her slow orbs to break the tempo of an executing team. Heal your duelist after a trade so they can keep entrying, and hold Resurrection for the highest-value teammate you lose. Wall placement is the skill that separates good Sages from great ones: a wall that buys five seconds in the right choke can save a round outright.
On attack, the wall can boost a teammate to an off-angle, block a flank as you plant, or split a site to isolate defenders. Slow orbs cover the spike during a post-plant. Above all, keep your team topped up; a single heal that lets an ally win a one-versus-one is worth more than any aggressive peek you might take.
"A clutch Sage wall is worth more than a clutch ace. One stops the round; the other just delays the loss.
Sage is generally strongest on maps with narrow, walkable chokes where her wall can fully seal a path, with Split, Bind, and Pearl often highlighted. As ever, confirm the live map rotation before you commit, since her wall value depends heavily on map geometry.
Practice your key wall placements in a custom game until you can throw them instantly. A wall placed half a second too late, or angled slightly wrong, can leave a gap that defeats the entire purpose.
Low. Sage is the most beginner-friendly agent in the game, though mastering wall and slow placements still carries real depth.
