This is a snapshot of the Season 2 meta in mid-2026, after the mid-season balance pass. Tier lists move every patch, so treat this as a guide to value, not gospel — and remember the most important rule sits at the very bottom of this page.
Meta in one line: poke vs dive. Brawl is the weakest archetype right now, the best tanks flex between dive and poke, and mobile flankers plus ranged controllers thrive.

Domina — the first true poke tank since Sigma — defines the meta with long-range zone control, though teams are learning to break her barrier. Reinhardt sits low on editorial lists but is still a strong brawl floor pick that quietly posts one of the best tank win rates on ladder.

Emre’s run-and-gun burst was dominant at launch and remains strong after a nerf. Sierra (the 51st hero) has the highest DPS pick rate in the game thanks to her grapple mobility and auto-aim dart, but launch hotfixes settled her into A rather than S.

Juno survived her nerfs and still anchors the support line; Kiriko holds the highest pick rate in the entire game (~64%) on the strength of her cleanse. Lúcio’s speed and ult-cancel utility keep him a permanent map-control pick.
Editorial vs the ladder
Here’s the catch every tier list buries: the heroes editors rate S-tier (Domina, Emre, Tracer) are not the ones topping ranked win rates — that’s Torbjörn (~56%), Symmetra (~54%) and Zenyatta (~54%). It’s the classic split between high-ceiling picks that reward coordination and easy, consistent picks that just win games on ladder.
Most-picked right now: Kiriko (~64%), Sierra (~48%), Mercy (~41%). Popular isn’t the same as strong — pick rate follows fun and familiarity as much as power.
The best hero is the one you can actually play. Pick for your hands, not the top of a chart.
