Double Time (DT) speeds a map up by 50%, which raises the BPM, tightens the approach rate, and pushes the star rating up - often by a full 1.5 to 2 stars. Because pp scales with difficulty, a map you can already pass comfortably suddenly pays out far more with DT layered on. It is the classic pp multiplier, and almost every farm list is built around it. This guide covers why DT farms so well and which maps become pp goldmines with it on.
The DT sweet spot is a map roughly 1.5 to 2 stars below your nomod fail ceiling. If you can clean-FC 6-star maps nomod, your DT farm pool is the 4.5 to 5-star maps you can play half-asleep.
The best DT maps are not the hardest ones - they are the ones with forgiving, repeatable rhythm at a BPM that stays comfortable when sped up. Look for consistent spacing, few awkward tech patterns, and a base BPM around 120 to 135 (roughly 180 to 200 under DT). Maps that already drain you nomod become unplayable with DT; maps that feel easy become perfect.

DT inflates your unstable rate because the song is faster, so do not panic if the raw number looks high - most tools report a rate-adjusted UR for a fair comparison. And because DT punishes any pattern you are not fully comfortable with, honesty about your FC rate matters more than usual: farm the map you clear one try in five, not the one you scrape a choked pass on.
